Live Better In Kelowna With Dental Implants

Kelowna Implant Dentistry Ill-fitting dentures can cause more problems for Kelowna denture wearers than they solve. If you live with loose dentures, you probably regard them as a necessary evil. Though they certainly look better than a toothless mouth, in practical terms they leave much to be desired because they affect two essential activities: eating and talking.

Unfortunately, many frustrated Mission denture wearers have quit dining in restaurants or engaging in social activities because they are afraid their dentures will slip.

Implant dental procedures are allowing former denture wearers to re-engage in life.

Consider the advantages of implant anchored dentures:

  • They are stable because the implant is anchored in the bone.
  • Your denture is fixed, it will not move around in your mouth.
  • They prevent bone loss that can occur when teeth are removed.
  • They eliminate the necessity of regular denture relines.
  • They do not irritate gums.
  • No denture adhesive is required.

V1Y 8B7 patients who have replaced their traditional dentures with implant overdentures enthusiastically say that the dental implant cost was more than worth it.

Do you want to eat normally again? What is the value of maintaining your facial shape? Can you put a price on confidence?

If you want more information about dental implants, call 778-478-3693 to schedule a consultation with Stephen Malfair. Choose Your Smile – Dr. Stephen Malfair is located at 301-1890 Cooper Rd in Kelowna. We have been providing advanced Kelowna dental care since 2004.

Amazing Dental Implants

Cosmetic Dentistry The best permanent tooth replacement treatment available to Kelowna people who are missing teeth are revolutionary dental implants.

A dental implant is a metal (usually titanium) rod implanted into the bone to replace the missing root. The crown and supporting structure are securely and permanently attached to the rod. Titanium is amazingly strong and extremely well tolerated by the human body. There are very few instances of rejection. In fact, many Kelowna implant dentists are not familiar with any such cases.

Tooth implants offer a long-term solution to tooth loss. Are you a good candidate for tooth implant surgery?

Because the metal rod is anchored into the jaw bone, it is critical that you have enough healthy bone at the implant site. Dr. Stephen Malfair can determine if you do. Age is rarely a factor. Dental implants have proved to be successful for V1Y 8B7 people of all ages.

There are a few medical issues that may affect your eligibility for implants. These include diabetes, osteoporosis, radiation therapy for cancer, parathyroid disorders, bone disorders and leukemia. The presence of one or more of these conditions does not necessarily mean an implant cannot work for you; discuss any health problems with Stephen Malfair during your implant consultation.

Choose Your Smile – Dr. Stephen Malfair is located at 1890 Cooper Rd Ste 301 in Kelowna. Call 778-478-3693 to schedule an implant consultation.

Tooth Restoration: Dental Implants And Dental Bridges

Kelowna Dental Implants and Dental Bridges When my Kelowna patients ask me about Kelowna tooth restoration, I usually tell them about fixed (or ‘traditional’) dental bridges or tooth implants. A dental bridge is an artificial tooth which replaces a missing tooth. The false tooth (called a ‘pontic’) is fused to porcelain crowns on either side of the missing tooth.

Tooth replacement has been a highly requested procedure at my Kelowna dental practice. Patients from the V1Y 8B7 area and V1W 3C6 area have expressed concern about tooth replacement for many years. Most of my questions in the Kelowna area have to do with the strength of the tooth replacement and durability.

Dental implants are also popular. A dental implant consists of a titanium post surgically inserted into the jaw bone to replace the root of the missing tooth. The post integrates with the bone to provide a stable foundation for the replacement tooth.

After it has bonded with the bone (it usually takes three to six months), a smaller post is attached. This post extends above the gum line. The artificial tooth (crown) is then attached. The entire process takes several months, but consistently yields terrific results for Kelowna tooth restoration patients.

Both British Columbia smile restoration options preserve or restore facial contour and allow you to talk and eat normally. Tooth replacements prevent adjoining teeth from gradually shifting and can help correct bite problems, also.

Tooth implants and dental bridges can replace one or more missing teeth. Many Kelowna area dental patients have been treated successfully with these tooth restoration alternatives.

Dr. Malfair and the team at Choose Your Smile in Kelowna focus on the best long-term solution for missing teeth. There are various dental implants that can be used to restore your smile and your confidence.

Implants are your second chance to enjoy the foods you love and partake in photos that you usually avoid. Dr. Malfair and his team have been practicing and leading the way in implant systems to create procedures that are effective and have reduced recovery times.

Dental implants are artificial roots and are a great option for filling spaces as you can attach anything to them once they have set in the bone. They are strong, durable and look great. This choice has big advantages over bridge work on teeth for filling gaps because dental implants:

  • can’t get decay under them like bridges can;
  • leave the teeth on either side of the space remain untouched;
  • can support anything so can be useful much further into the future;
  • are far more cost effective (over the long haul) than either root canal and crown treated teeth or bridgework;
  • can look far better esthetically because the teeth are not joined;
  • are easier to maintain.

The team at Choose Your Smile Dental Clinic has been restoring and placing dental implants since 2006. You can services done that vary from single tooth replacements, implants supported bridges, implant supported dentures and several other full mouth procedures.

We also offer IV Sedation and Relaxation Dentistry to ensure your service is done with as little anxiety as possible.

The procedure only takes 5 hours per arch. The All-on-4 procedure requires little bone grafting for most patients, unlike many traditional implant procedures. All-on-4 dental implants save time, money and ultimately discomfort.

Published studies show a 98% success rate using All-on-4 dental implants. The perfect candidate for this procedure is someone who is currently wearing dentures or who is going to need dentures in their future. There is no age limit, but the patient must be in good health.

Why Dental Implants are Better

There are two options that are used to replace lost teeth. You can either get a dental bridge or dental implants. When it comes to choosing which option is best for your mouth the team at Choose Your Smile strongly supports dental implants.

Why are dental implants better? First things first, dental implants protect the rest of your teeth. When a dental bridge is installed it uses your natural teeth as support. In order to achieve this support, a lot of tooth structure has to be removed. On the other hand, dental implants don’t require any reduction, strain or pressure on your other teeth.

Secondly, with implants, you can better replace molar teeth. In the case of bridges, there needs to be adjacent teeth on both sides of a space. So if you have multiple missing back teeth, implants are a better option.

The great thing about dental implants is that they require little maintenance and are impervious to tooth decay. Bridge and crowns have to be replaced every 10 to 15 years. The cleaning process for cleaning implants is simple as they are very much like real teeth.

If you are interested in getting your missing teeth replaced, you should look into dental implants. They have outstanding benefits that will have you happy with your new smile. Make an appointment at Choose Your Smile Dental Clinic today to see your options.
