Implant Options We Offer

Dental implants (sometimes called tooth implants) are a natural-looking, long-lasting way to replace missing or failing teeth. A small titanium post acts like a new tooth root and supports a crown or bridge, so your smile looks and feels natural again. We offer several implant options, depending on how many teeth are missing, your bone health, and your long-term goals.

Single-Tooth Implants

A natural-feeling replacement for one missing tooth, without altering healthy neighbouring teeth, using a single titanium post implant and a crown.

Implant Bridges

Sturdy and long-lasting, implant bridges replace several missing teeth at once using implants instead of natural teeth for support.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant dentures are full or partial dentures held in place by several dental implants. A stable alternative for patients struggling with loose or uncomfortable dentures. Implants provide strong anchorage for improved comfort and chewing strength. We’ll help you determine whether a reline, a new denture, or an implant-supported solution is the most suitable next step.

Full-Arch / “Teeth in a Day” Options

A secure, fixed solution for patients missing many teeth or struggling with unstable dentures using the All-on-4 treatment concept. In the right cases, we can place implants and give you a set of strong, natural-looking temporary teeth the same day, so you leave with a confident smile while your implants heal.

The Implant Process: What to Expect

Dr. Stephen Malfair, a skilled dentist with decades of experience and extensive training in dental implants, will handle your implant treatment from start to finish. Every case is different, but most implant treatments are completed over several months to allow safe healing.

Consultation & 3D CT Scan

You'll meet with Dr. Malfair for a review your goals, dental history, and oral health. We'll use detailed 3D imaging to assess bone health and discuss your options, with no pressure.

Implant Placement Surgery

The titanium implant is carefully placed using guided techniques and advanced imaging to ensure comfort. This is usually done under local anesthetic, but we also offer options for oral & IV sedation.

Dental Healing & Integration

Over the next few months, the implant naturally bonds with your jawbone (a process called osseointegration), forming a strong foundation for your new tooth.

Final Restoration & Support

Your custom crown, bridge, or denture is carefully placed and designed to blend naturally with your smile. We use advanced cementation and fixation techniques to ensure comfort, stability, and long-term durability. We’ll also guide you on caring for your implants and provide ongoing follow-up support to protect your results.

Advanced Technology for Precise Planning

Dental implant surgery is carefully planned using our onsite 3D CT scanner, located just one floor below the clinic. This technology allows us to plan implant treatment with exceptional accuracy, supporting:

  • Safer surgery
  • Well-informed decision-making
  • Highly predictable outcomes
  • Better long-term function

We’ve used CBCT-guided implant planning for more than a decade to support hundreds of successful implant cases in Kelowna.

Sedation Options for a Comfortable Experience

Dental anxiety is extremely common. We offer safe, regulated oral and IV sedation options to help you feel relaxed during implant procedures.

Dr. Malfair served on the BC Dental College Sedation Committee (2017–2020), helping shape provincial safety standards. His background ensures a calm, supportive experience for every patient.

If anxiety has held you back, we can discuss sedation at your consultation.

Dental Implant Fees & Costs

The cost of dental implants varies depending on how many implants are needed, the type of final restoration (crown, bridge, denture), whether grafting or sinus lifts are required, and overall complexity. We review all costs in advance, so you’re never surprised at any stage of treatment.

We follow the BC Dental Association Fee Guide and provide clear, written treatment plans so you always know what to expect.

We understand that implant treatment is an investment. Flexible payment plans are available for patients who wish to spread their treatment costs over time.

Most patients report only mild discomfort. We use gentle techniques, modern planning technology, and offer safe sedation options for those who prefer a more relaxed experience.

With proper home care and regular check-ups, implants can last decades, and many last a lifetime. They’re one of the most durable tooth-replacement options available.

Pricing varies depending on how many implants are needed and whether grafting is required. We follow the BC Dental Association Fee Guide and provide clear, written treatment plans so you always know what to expect.

Yes. Implant-supported dentures provide significantly more stability, chewing strength, and comfort than traditional dentures.

Most patients return to normal activities within 24-48 hours. Discomfort is usually mild and manageable. We provide clear, step-by-step instructions to make the process comfortable.

Yes. For suitable cases, we offer same-day full-arch solutions using the All-on-4 treatment concept.

Technically yes — but experience, training, and technique make a significant difference. Dental implants require careful 3D planning, bone assessment, surgical precision, and advanced restorative and cementation techniques to ensure long-term stability, comfort, and natural results.

Dr. Malfair has over 20 years of experience in implant and restorative dentistry. His training includes organizations such as the Academy of Osseointegration and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, along with advanced education in cosmetic and restorative care. He also previously served on the BC Dental College Sedation Committee, helping shape safe sedation standards in British Columbia — supporting a calm, well-planned implant experience from start to finish.

If there isn’t enough bone to support an implant in the upper jaw, a sinus lift or sinus “bump” may be recommended. This gently creates space for new bone so implants can be placed safely and securely. A 3D CT scan helps us determine whether this is needed and whether it can be done at the same time as implant placement or in a separate step.

A sinus lift is a procedure that adds bone beneath the sinus when implants are planned in the upper back jaw. In smaller cases, a minor “sinus bump” can be done at the same appointment as implant placement. Larger lifts are typically done first and allowed to heal before implants are placed.
