The First Signs That You Need to See a Dentist

Even with your regular dental check-ups, things can go wrong when it comes to the health of your mouth. It is important that you contact your dentist if you experience any of these symptoms:

  1. Changed Gums: if your gums have become swollen this could be a sign that you have an infection. Also if the colour of your gums have changed, receding gums and any odours should raise alarm and have you calling your dentist right away.
  2. Increased Sensitivity: if your teeth all of a sudden start to experience sensitivity to hot and cold or even certain foods, you should pay attention to this. This may be a sign that you are grinding your teeth, or that a filling needs to be fixed or you have unnoticeable tooth decay.
  3. Tooth Pain: this isn’t just sensitivity when you eat, it may be all the time and could be giving your headaches. This could indicate a serious problem within your mouth. Even if the pain goes away after a couple days, you should still book an appointment with your dentist.

If you experience any of these symptoms you should reach out to your dentist right away. They may seem like small issues, but they could be the warning sign of some larger problem.
